Public works is a paperwork trade as much as a construction trade. Registration, certified payroll, apprenticeship compliance, submittals, inspection holds, and a specification that does not bend — miss any of it and the schedule stops regardless of how good the pavement is. We are DIR registered (#2000022906) and run prevailing wage packages as routine work, not as an exception we have to staff up for.
On the ground, that means roadway patching and rehabilitation, right-of-way concrete, curb ramps built to current accessibility standards, and full-depth sections where the existing base is gone. We build to agency standard specifications and details, coordinate with the inspector rather than around them, and submit certified payroll on time — every period, not after a reminder.

Are you registered for public works in California?+
Yes. Paragon General Engineering is registered with the Department of Industrial Relations, #2000022906, which is required to bid on and perform public works in California. Our CSLB license is #1130958, General Engineering (A).
Do you handle prevailing wage and certified payroll?+
Routinely. We pay prevailing wage per the applicable DIR determinations and submit certified payroll records electronically for every period the job is active, along with the apprenticeship filings the project requires.
Will you work as a subcontractor to a prime?+
Yes — a large share of our public works volume is concrete and asphalt scopes under a prime contractor. We can also prime the smaller pavement and right-of-way packages directly.
Do you pull encroachment permits and traffic control plans?+
Yes. We pull encroachment permits, prepare and submit traffic control plans, and coordinate inspections for municipal and right-of-way scopes. It is part of the bid, not an extra.
